A short drive to the south will take you through Kilmartin Glen, with its neolithic monuments, to Dunadd, ancient royal seat of the Scots, and on to the scenic Crinan canal. A few miles to the north lies Oban with its famous McCaig's Tower viewpoint. A variety of boat trips can be taken from Oban, or take a trip to one of the world's largest whirlpools from picturesque Easdale village.
